An All Too Brief Hands-On With The Motorola Droid Bionic
by Nicholas Deleon on January 5, 2011

Nicholas here, having just spent a hot minute with the new Motorola Droid Bionic. It’s pretty neat, which is very high praise from someone like me. Light, snappy, the whole nine yards.

Cleverly, I decided to use the Android browser to search for CES. I went to the Wikipedia page and it loaded just like that. Rotating the phone to put it in portait mode didn’t cause any noticeable lag, at least to my eyes. And the screen itself is mighty sharp; I believe Motorola now calls it “qHD,” which in actual numbers means 960×540. At the very least that’s sufficient for a phone, methinks.

This is the part I hate, trying to describe how it feels, which is an entirely subjective opinion not in any way based in fact. With that in mind, yeah, it’s mighty light. I’d say right around the weight of an iPod touch.

MAn, I don’t know. What I do like about the Bionic is how Motorola is promoting it as “the end of waiting.” Except for the waiting we’ll have to do until it comes in in the second quarter of this year.
