Is Star Wars Finally Headed To Blu-ray This Year?

This could be among the biggest announcements to be had at CES this week. It would appear that Star Wars will be coming to Blu-ray in some capacity. That’s what this invite we just received certainly hints at.

Of course, we have zero information beyond this. Presumably it means that all six movies will be coming to Blu-ray. Release date, exactly what sort of bonuses and/or extra feasters the set will include, we’ve no idea.

Looks like Thursday is the big day.

Maybe I’ll watch the original trilogy this time around? I’ve yet to see any of them, as hard as that is to believe~!

  • This isn’t news. Star Wars is irrelevant, ham handed kids stuff. I dunno why people still hang on Lucas’s teet.

In other news, Blu-Ray will be irrelevant in two years anyway.

    • Gotta agree with Tim here. I’ve loved Star Wars from an early age, but after a few kicks to the groin (also called episodes I-III) I just can’t make myself care anymore.

If only he had given the script to a director worth a darn, who could get the actors to…I don’t know…ACT. I would still care.

Lucas’ universe has outgrown him, and would be better without him at this point.

  • i really would love to see all movies on one bluray and then all of the extra crap on seperate blurays.

doubt we will but sure would be sweet (i’d even take resolutions between bluray and dvd quality to get all on one bluray).

  • Lucas already said Star Wars the complete saga would be coming to Blu-Ray so hopefully this is something better … since it’s Panasonic, this unfortunately most likely another exclusivity pack like Avatar 3D I’m afraid.

  • My wish is that the Blu-Ray include both the original and “improved” editions. As well, I hope that each trilogy is sold separately — I wouldn’t want the prequels if they were free.

  • Star wars 3D on Blu-ray, exclusivly from Panasonic with purchase of…..

  • I might actually buy a blu-ray player now
