Live From Motorola’s Press Announcement At CES 2011
by greg on January 5, 2011
We’re live in Vegas at the Venetian hotel, where Motorola has gathered up just about everybody in the industry to announce… something. What that is, exactly, is a mystery — but we’ve got some pretty good ideas. Will they dive deeper into that Android tablet that we saw a glimpse of just weeks ago? Join us after the jump to find out.
- 4:20 PM: The lights have dimmed! Show’s about to start.
- Motorola CMO Bill Ogle has taken the stage
- Motorola’s launching a new tagline, starting today “Life. (M)powered.”
- Bill rolls a quick trailer of the Motorola Atrix 4g, the new Android AT&T phone announced earlier today. By “quick”, I mean really, really quick. Seconds.
- Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha has taken the stage
- Sanjay is touching back on the Atrix 4G, calling it “The future of mobile computing”, again calling it what they called it earlier today: The World’s Most Powerful Smartphone.

- They’re still focusing on the Atrix 4G, mainly focusing on how the device can be used as a media center over HDMI, or with their crazy Laptop-Dock system.
- They’re showing the “WebTop” interface; the handset is hooked up to a monitor, with a plethora of browser windows (!) running on top.
To clarify: Everything running up there (on the right side) is running on the phone. It’s strikingly smooth.- He switches the phone from the dock hooked to an LCD, to the Laptop-Dock (Essentially a brainless laptop), and it switches seamlessly. Everything that was on the phone is now on the laptop’s display. Pretty slick!
- Jeff Bradley of ATT has taken the stage, recapping some of the stats released today: 20 android phones in 2011, 4G in mid-2011

- “It’s too soon to share pricing [Of the Atrix], but stay tuned”
- “In addition to being available in the US on AT&T, it’ll be available on Bell Canada and Orange UK”
- “Today, we are pleased to introduce: The Cliq 2″ (Presumably for T-Mobile)
- They’re rolling a video of the Cliq 2 now. It’s the one that leaked a few weeks back: http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/12/28/motorola-cliq-2-shown-in-leaked-shots/

- 1Ghz CPU, 3.7″ Display
- Available on T-Mobile on January 19th

- “Tonight, we’re proud to announce our first 4G LTE device: The Droid Bionic”
- Dual Core 1 Ghz CPU, 4G LTE Support, 512 MB RAM. 4.3 qHD display

- “We’ve been asked many times about tablets.. In collaboration with Google and Verizon, I’m proud to announce the Motorola Xoom. Coming 1Q, the first tablet running Honeycomb software”
- Dual-core CPU, 16:10 aspect ratio screen, runs Adobe Flash
- HD Camcorder with 1080p
- “Upgradeable to 4G”
- 3G will launch in Q1, 4G models will launch in Q2. 3G models upgradeable to 4G (How? Unspecified).
- They’re about to preview the “Honeycomb experience”, warning that the experience is “not quite done”.
- They’re showing the video that leaked out about an hour ago
- For anyone who missed that video: http://techcrunch.com/2011/01/05/official-google-video-preview-of-android-3-0/

- They’re demonstrating the new version of Maps for Android, much as Andy Rubin did a few weeks ago
- That’s all, folks! We’re off to get hands ons.

Okay, while these Motorola products get me SUPER EXCITED, I simply cannot allow myself to buy them. I read this article that claims Motorola supports illegal activities and war crimes and I dont want to support a company that supports that kind of thing.
You can check out the video here: http://getyourgadgetsgoing.com/2011/01/05/motorola-supports-war-crimes-will-you-support-themvideo/
there are some NFL jerseys, go and have a look ,i think you’ll like them
Great Post. Thank You!.
