New Business Monitors From HP Are Businesslike
by Devin Coldewey on January 3, 2011

These new monitors aren’t the most exciting things I’ve ever seen — in fact, to say that even one atom of me is excited by them would be a gross overstatement. But we would be remiss not to report that they exist. And they do exist. That’s about all they can do.

Look at them up there. All lined up and ready to display. There’s not a lot to them. You’ve got the LA2006x, the LA2206x, the LA2306x, and the wild card, Mr. LE1901wl.

The “LA” ones are mercury-free LED-backlit, 16:9, 5ms response, and they all rotate 90 degrees to portrait view, which is handy if you’ve never had that capability. They’re 20, 21.5, and 23 inches respectively, and the latter two have 1080p resolutions. VGA, DVI-D, and DisplayPort inputs. They cost $209, $245, and $279 respectively.

The LE one is “priced competitively” and is also LED-backlit. It’s 16:10 instead of 16:9. It’s only 19 inches and “features” VGA input and a resolution of 1440×900. Don’t get these, businesses, unless you are punishing your employees.
