Tonight’s Honeycomb Video Is Made Official With T-Mobile G-Slate
by Devin Coldewey on January 5, 2011

Remember that video we posted earlier that was quickly taken down — but not before we took screenshots and put them on display. Turns out that was supposed to air just a few minutes ago as part of T-Mobile’s “G-Slate” promotion. Yes, it’s a T-Mobile tablet running Honeycomb.

Literally all that was shared is that it’s from T-Mobile, it’s 4G (though some may disagree with that term), and it runs Honeycomb. Yet they can make a 1000-word press release out of that. Talk about spinning straw into gold!

  • looks like maemo/meego in a lot of ways – scrolling “places” inside the window, etc.

illustration of nokia’s epic fail in marketing …. nokia n770 & n810 have done most of this for years, just not on a phone network of any “G.” and their n900 does all of this now. sadly, their excellent devices and innovative os have fallen by the wayside d/t lack of strategists & marketers.

  • This is something to be excited for. Honestly, it’s amazing how much Android had evolved.

  • Damn, if only they’d bring a UI like this to all the phones out there, atleast the more powerful among the single core ones like the Galaxy S, Nexus S and Desire HD.
