At the risk of this sounding like a plug, I’m glad to see these things are hitting the streets, though $99 will be above the casual user’s budget when a plain USB drive accomplishes the same thing with a little more effort. DropBox and similar services also pose a challencge.

They’re working on a Mac version so you can share files across platforms. They also added a disable code in case you lose one half, though you can also just unplug one half of the device. Hopefully we’ll get one of these for review soon, and can evaluate it on ease of use, build, and so on.

There was some interesting tech at Unveiled, but it’s really about experiencing the lunacy that is every CES press event. Tortellini, drinks, booth jostling, and crowd noise are all I remember. Caution: lots of video windows inside. RAM use may skyrocket.

Monster recently got into the headphone market when they slapped Dr. Dre’s name on some cans called Beats. They were very popular, became super popular and spawned off many other versions, some cheaper, some not so.

It appears that combining well known and relevant names to their products is Monster’s KO. That notion is to be expanded on for 2011 with their new earphones.

Miles Davis, the man who birthed cool, will have his name on a new new of earbuds named Trumpet. These little guys expand on the previous Miles Davis headphones the Tribute. The plugs come with Miles’ album Sketches of Spain, which was remixed and remastered into Monster’s new High Definition Stereo and High Definition Surround Sound.

iPhone controls are cleverly placed on the cord and look like trumpet valves.

Price is going to be $349.99, which might seem a bit pricey, but hey, it’s Monster. Let’s just hope it’s worth the price, and that we’ll have to let you know about later. Look for them in February.
